Startup Vector, founded by the native of SpaceX, Virgin Galactic, Boeing and a number of other companies in the aerospace industry, announced the successful launch and suborbital flight of the Vector-R launch vehicle. The launch took place from the Camden Cosmodrome, located in the US state of Georgia. In the 60s of the last century NASA rockets were tested here, and now the cosmodrome was converted to the needs of Vector, which already in the near future plans to launch commercial launches of microsatellites.

The five-ton Vector-R rocket had already flown in the spring of this year, but now the tests were complicated by placing on its side a test load from Astro Digital, the Center for Applied Space Technologies and the NASA Research Center.

Representatives Vector summed up the results of the new flight and expressed confidence that next
year they will be able to put the rocket into orbit. The developers claim that they are going to launch rockets with a small cargo on board for only $ 3 million, and this is substantially cheaper than the services provided by large companies that launch large launch vehicles. Because of the low price, even small companies and research groups will be able to use the Vector-R rocket, which means that space will become even more accessible and closer.
