Students from the American University of Cincinnati presented a working prototype of a Hyperloop train on a magnetic cushion.

On the video published on YouTube, the developers showed that they managed to achieve the lifting of the transport capsule model (length 4 meters) to a height of more than 0.5 centimeters. For this purpose, eight engines were used to create a magnetic field.
A competition of 60 students from the university takes part in the Hyperloop competition. This group was among the 30 teams that will have to test their prototype on the test track in January next year.
The Hyperloop competition is funded by SpaceX, and in total about 1000 applicants participated in this competition.
Recall that the vacuum train project Hyperloop was proposed by Ilon Mask in 2012-2013. One of the early concepts of transport provided for an air cushion and rejected a more expensive magnetic levitation.
